If the anger ¹  of the ruler flares up ²  against you, do not resign ³  from your position, ⁴  for a calm ⁵  response ⁶  can undo ⁷  great offenses.

Those who get up early to drink beer are as good as dead, ¹  those who keep drinking long after dark until they are intoxicated with wine. ²

When it rises up, the mighty are terrified, at its thrashing about they withdraw. ¹ 

And many false prophets will appear and deceive ¹  many,

then what will I do when God confronts me in judgment; ¹  when he intervenes, ²  how will I respond to him?

Rise up, O God, and execute judgment on the earth! For you own ¹  all the nations.

Then the Lord said to me, ¹  “Tell them that the Lord God of Israel who rules over all ²  says, ³  ‘Drink this cup ⁴  until you get drunk and vomit. Drink until you fall down and can’t get up. ⁵  For I will send wars sweeping through you.’ ⁶
