Those who make clothes from combed flax will be embarrassed; those who weave will turn pale. ¹ 

Correct us, Lord, but only in due measure. ¹  Do not punish us in anger or you will reduce us to nothing. ² 

The earth quakes ¹  before them; ²  the sky reverberates. ³  The sun and the moon grow dark; the stars refuse to shine. ⁴ 

In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that one of these little ones be lost.

so ¹  I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’

A centurion ¹  there ²  had a slave ³  who was highly regarded, ⁴  but who was sick and at the point of death.

who will not receive many times more ¹  in this age ²  – and in the age to come, eternal life.” ³ 

What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

But you, brothers and sisters, ¹  do not grow weary in doing what is right.

Ashkelon will see and be afraid; Gaza will be in great anguish, as will Ekron, for her hope will have been dried up. ¹  Gaza will lose her king, and Ashkelon will no longer be inhabited.

The ships of Kittim ¹  will come against him, leaving him disheartened. ²  He will turn back and direct his indignation against the holy covenant. He will return and honor ³  those who forsake the holy covenant.

There is danger not only that this business of ours will come into disrepute, ¹  but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis ²  will be regarded as nothing, ³  and she whom all the province of Asia ⁴  and the world worship will suffer the loss of her greatness.” ⁵ 

And the Lord did this ¹  on the next day; ²  all ³  the livestock of the Egyptians ⁴  died, but of the Israelites’ livestock not one died.
