Then they say, “The Lord does not see this; the God of Jacob does not take notice of it.” ¹ 

He does not always accuse, and does not stay angry. ¹ 

He does not deal with us as our sins deserve; ¹  he does not repay us as our misdeeds deserve. ² 

For the ways of a person ¹  are in front of the Lord’s eyes, and the Lord ²  weighs ³  all that person’s ⁴  paths.

The woman called Folly ¹  is brash, ²  she is naive ³  and does not know ⁴  anything. ⁵ 

Like cloudy skies and wind that produce no rain, ¹  so is the one who boasts ²  of a gift not given. ³ 

Like snow in summer or rain in harvest, so honor ¹  is not fitting for a fool. ² 

Answer a fool according to his folly, ¹  lest he be wise in his own estimation. ² 

The stingy person ¹  hastens after riches and does not know that poverty will overtake him. ² 

She is not ¹  afraid of the snow ²  for her household, for all of her household are clothed with scarlet. ³ 

A poor but wise youth is better than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to receive advice.

Indeed, ¹  nations or kingdoms that do not serve you will perish; such nations will be totally destroyed. ² 

Yet it was I who led ¹  Ephraim, I took them by the arm; but they did not acknowledge that I had healed them. ² 

In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that one of these little ones be lost.

A disciple ¹  is not greater than ²  his teacher, but everyone when fully trained will be like his teacher.

Then if ¹  it bears fruit next year, ²  very well, ³  but if ⁴  not, you can cut it down.’”

But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tiny stroke of a letter ¹  in the law to become void. ² 

Then Peter started speaking: ¹  “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism in dealing with people, ² 

For it seems unreasonable to me to send a prisoner without clearly indicating ¹  the charges against him.”

So then, ¹  it does not depend on human desire or exertion, ²  but on God who shows mercy.
