I will learn a song that imparts wisdom; I will then sing my insightful song to the accompaniment of a harp. ¹ 

For he will order his angels ¹  to protect you in all you do. ² 

O God, I will sing a new song to you! Accompanied by a ten-stringed instrument, I will sing praises to you,

The one who denounces ¹  his neighbor lacks wisdom, ²  but the one who has discernment ³  keeps silent. ⁴ 

What does a man acquire from all his labor and from the anxiety that accompanies his toil on earth? ¹ 

Then ¹  an expert in the law ²  came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” ³ 

Jesus and his disciples got up and followed him.

Many ¹  women who had followed Jesus from Galilee and given him support ²  were also there, watching from a distance.

As he was getting into the boat the man who had been demon-possessed asked if he could go ¹  with him.

Now ¹  Jesus left that place and came to his hometown, ²  and his disciples followed him.

Peter began to speak to him, “Look, ¹  we have left everything to follow you!” ² 

So ¹  when they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followed ²  him.

Then ¹  Jesus ²  went out and made his way, ³  as he customarily did, to the Mount of Olives, ⁴  and the disciples followed him.

Then ¹  Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for an accusation ²  against this man.”

A great number of the people followed him, among them women ¹  who were mourning ²  and wailing for him.

And all those who knew Jesus ¹  stood at a distance, and the women who had followed him from Galilee saw ²  these things.

The ¹  women who had accompanied Jesus ²  from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it.

(Now the men ¹  who were traveling with him stood there speechless, ²  because they heard the voice but saw no one.) ³ 

“Honor your father and mother,” ¹  which is the first commandment accompanied by a promise, namely,

and our Lord’s grace was abundant, bringing faith and love in Christ Jesus. ¹
