The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, ¹  I will give him some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white ²  stone, ³  and on that stone will be written a new name that no one can understand ⁴  except the one who receives it.’

After these things I looked, and here was ¹  an enormous crowd that no one could count, made up of persons from every nation, tribe, ²  people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb dressed in long white robes, and with palm branches in their hands.

take my advice ¹  and buy gold from me refined by fire so you can become rich! Buy from me ²  white clothing so you can be clothed and your shameful nakedness ³  will not be exposed, and buy eye salve ⁴  to put on your eyes so you can see!

Don’t you say, ¹  ‘There are four more months and then comes the harvest?’ I tell you, look up ²  and see that the fields are already white ³  for harvest!

The Beloved to the Maidens: My beloved ¹  is dazzling ²  and ruddy; ³  he stands out ⁴  in comparison to ⁵  all other men. ⁶

Even some of the wise will stumble, resulting in their refinement, purification, and cleansing until the time of the end, for it is still for the appointed time.

People ¹  writhe in fear when they see them. ²  All of their faces turn pale with fright. ³ 

and the seven angels who had the seven plagues came out of the temple, dressed in clean bright linen, wearing wide golden belts ¹  around their chests.

When the sheep mated ¹  in front of the branches, they ²  gave birth to young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.

When ¹  the layer of dew had evaporated, ²  there on the surface of the desert was a thin flaky substance, ³  thin like frost on the earth.

Make for them linen undergarments to cover their naked bodies; ¹  they must cover ²  from the waist to the thighs.

Do to him what you think is appropriate, ¹  but don’t let him live long and die a peaceful death. ² 

He made the curtain out of violet, purple, crimson, and white fabrics, and embroidered on it decorative cherubim.
