Remove me from the path of deceit! ¹  Graciously give me ²  your law!

Arrogant people do nothing but scoff at me. ¹  Yet I do not turn aside from your law.

I remember your name during the night, O Lord, and I will keep ¹  your law.

May I experience your compassion, ¹  so I might live! For I find delight in your law.

If I had not found encouragement in your law, ¹  I would have died in my sorrow. ² 

It is time for the Lord to act – they break your law!

ר (Resh) See my pain and rescue me! For I do not forget your law.

You ¹  will eat what you worked so hard to grow. ²  You will be blessed and secure. ³ 

How blessed is the one whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

I spelled out my law for him in great detail, but they regard it as something totally unknown ¹  to them!

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Bring ¹  the fattened calf ²  and kill it! Let us eat ³  and celebrate,

“There was a rich man who dressed in purple ¹  and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously ²  every day.

At ¹  that time ²  they made an idol in the form of a calf, ³  brought ⁴  a sacrifice to the idol, and began rejoicing ⁵  in the works of their hands. ⁶ 

But if you call yourself a Jew and rely on the law ¹  and boast of your relationship to God ² 

For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes.

And so ¹  you know what holds him back, ²  so that he will be revealed in his own time.

to obey ¹  this command ²  without fault or failure until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ

After God spoke long ago ¹  in various portions ²  and in various ways ³  to our ancestors ⁴  through the prophets,

¹ In the third ²  year of King Cyrus of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel (who was also called Belteshazzar). This message was true and concerned a great war. ³  He understood the message and gained insight by the vision.
