“Blessed ¹  are the poor in spirit, ²  for the kingdom of heaven belongs ³  to them.

“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

It is like a mustard seed ¹  that when sown in the ground, even though it is the smallest of all the seeds in the ground –

And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, ¹  worth less than a penny.

So they put foremen ¹  over the Israelites ²  to oppress ³  them with hard labor. As a result ⁴  they built Pithom and Rameses ⁵  as store cities for Pharaoh.

The Israelite foremen saw ¹  that they ²  were in trouble when they were told, ³  “You must not reduce the daily quota of your bricks.”

If he takes another wife, ¹  he must not diminish the first one’s food, ²  her clothing, or her marital rights. ³
