This became known to all who lived in Ephesus, ¹  both Jews and Greeks; fear came over ²  them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was praised. ³ 

But what if God, willing to demonstrate his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects ¹  of wrath ²  prepared for destruction? ³ 

And what if he is willing to make known the wealth of his glory on the objects ¹  of mercy that he has prepared beforehand for glory –

The purpose of this enlightenment is that ¹  through the church the multifaceted wisdom ²  of God should now be disclosed to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly realms.

God wanted to make known to them the glorious ¹  riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Everyone who resides ¹  in him does not sin; ²  everyone who sins has neither seen him nor known him.

Now therefore kill every boy, ¹  and kill every woman who has had sexual intercourse with a man. ² 

and 32,000 young women who had never had sexual intercourse with a man. ¹ 

So that ¹  your confidence may be in the Lord, I am making them known to you today ²  – even you.

Then they told what had happened on the road, ¹  and how they recognized him ²  when he broke the bread.

“Therefore be advised ¹  that this salvation from God ²  has been sent to the Gentiles; ³  they ⁴  will listen!” ⁵ 

Let everyone see your gentleness. ¹  The Lord is near!

But now that you have come to know God (or rather to be known by God), how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless ¹  basic forces? ²  Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again? ³ 

the assembly must present a young bull for a sin offering when the sin they have committed ¹  becomes known. They must bring it before the Meeting Tent,

If a homicide victim ¹  should be found lying in a field in the land the Lord your God is giving you, ²  and no one knows who killed ³  him,

They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods they had not known; to new gods who had recently come along, gods your ancestors ¹  had not known about.

Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Before our very eyes may the shed blood of your servants be avenged among the nations! ¹ 

Yet he delivered them for the sake of his reputation, ¹  that he might reveal his power.

(64:1) As when fire ignites dry wood, or fire makes water boil, let your adversaries know who you are, ¹  and may the nations shake at your presence!

I will disturb ¹  many peoples, when I bring about your destruction among the nations, among countries you do not know.
