Praise the Lord! How blessed is the one ²  who obeys ³  the Lord, who takes great delight in keeping his commands. ⁴ 

א (Alef) How blessed are those whose actions are blameless, ²  who obey ³  the law of the Lord.

How blessed are those who observe his rules, and seek him with all their heart,

A song of ascents. ²  How blessed is every one of the Lord’s loyal followers, ³  each one who keeps his commands! ⁴ 

How blessed are the people who experience these things! ¹  How blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!

She is like ¹  a tree of life ²  to those who obtain her, ³  and everyone who grasps hold of her will be blessed. ⁴ 

“So now, children, ¹  listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways.

Blessed is the one ¹  who listens to me, watching ²  at my doors day by day, waiting ³  beside my doorway. ⁴ 

Blessed is the one who is always cautious, ¹  but whoever hardens his heart ²  will fall into evil.

Her children rise up ¹  and call her blessed, her husband ²  also praises her:

Blessed is the one who waits and attains to the 1,335 days.

“Blessed ¹  are the poor in spirit, ²  for the kingdom of heaven belongs ³  to them.

“But your eyes are blessed ¹  because they see, and your ears because they hear.

Blessed is that slave whom the master finds at work ¹  when he comes.

And blessed ¹  is she who believed that ²  what was spoken to her by ³  the Lord would be fulfilled.” ⁴ 

But he replied, ¹  “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey ²  it!”

Blessed is that slave ¹  whom his master finds at work ²  when he returns.

If you understand ¹  these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

“Blessed ¹  are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;

Or are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we really stronger than he is? ¹
