If he does not redeem the field, but sells ¹  the field to someone else, he may never redeem it.

but whatever does not have fins and scales you may not eat; it is ritually impure to you.

But now, look, Adonijah has become king! But you, ¹  my master the king, are not even aware of it! ² 

Why is light given ¹  to a man ²  whose way is hidden, ³  and whom God has hedged in? ⁴ 

For evil does not come up from the dust, ¹  nor does trouble spring up from the ground,

If he is uprooted ¹  from his place, then that place ²  will disown him, saying, ³  ‘I have never seen you!’

God does not restrain his anger; ¹  under him the helpers of Rahab ²  lie crushed. ³ 

If God places no trust in his holy ones, ¹  if even the heavens ²  are not pure in his eyes,

“But ¹  if I speak, my pain is not relieved, ²  and if I refrain from speaking – how ³  much of it goes away?

I summon ¹  my servant, but he does not respond, even though I implore ²  him with my own mouth.

Can his armies be numbered? ¹  On whom does his light ²  not rise?

For he says, ‘It does not profit a man when he makes his delight with God.’ ¹ 

who says to a king, ¹  ‘Worthless man’ ²  and to nobles, ‘Wicked men,’

For his eyes are on the ways of an individual, he observes all a person’s ¹  steps.

For he does not still consider a person, ¹  that he should come before God in judgment.

But you say, ‘What will it profit you,’ ¹  and, ‘What do I gain by not sinning?’ ² 

Surely it is an empty cry ¹  – God does not hear it; the Almighty does not take notice of it.

Indeed, God is mighty; and he does not despise people, ¹  he ²  is mighty, and firm ³  in his intent. ⁴ 

She forgets that a foot might crush them, or that a wild animal ¹  might trample them.

Certainly ¹  you do not want a sacrifice, or else I would offer it; ²  you do not desire a burnt sacrifice. ³
