As his father David had decreed, Solomon ¹  appointed the divisions of the priests to do their assigned tasks, the Levitical orders to lead worship and help the priests with their daily tasks, ²  and the divisions of the gatekeepers to serve at their assigned gates. ³  This was what David the man of God had ordered. ⁴ 

As for me, I will wait continually, and will continue to praise you. ¹ 

They seek me day after day; they want to know my requirements, ¹  like a nation that does what is right and does not reject the law of their God. They ask me for just decrees; they want to be near God.

Fill up then the measure of your ancestors!

“This will be a regular ¹  burnt offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before the Lord, where I will meet ²  with you to speak to you there.

You are to offer them with their drink offerings in addition to the continual burnt offering and its grain offering – they must be unblemished.

Each day there were six Levites posted on the east, four on the north, and four on the south. At the storehouses they were posted in pairs.

How long must I worry, ¹  and suffer in broad daylight? ²  How long will my enemy gloat over me? ³ 

May he live! ¹  May they offer him gold from Sheba! ²  May they continually pray for him! May they pronounce blessings on him all day long! ³ 

Rise up, O God! Defend your honor! ¹  Remember how fools insult you all day long! ² 

For whenever I prophesy, ¹  I must cry out, ²  “Violence and destruction are coming!” ³  This message from the Lord ⁴  has made me an object of continual insults and derision.

Ephraim continually feeds on the wind; he chases the east wind all day; he multiplies lies and violence. They make treaties ¹  with Assyria, and send olive oil as tribute ²  to Egypt.

And every day both in the temple courts ¹  and from house to house, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the good news ²  that Jesus was the Christ. ³ 

Every day one ox, six select sheep, and some birds were prepared for me, and every ten days all kinds of wine in abundance. Despite all this I did not require the food allotted to the governor, for the work was demanding on this people.

This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, ¹  besides the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.

Each morning I will destroy all the wicked people in the land, and remove all evildoers from the city of the Lord.

And you must drink water by measure, a pint and a half; ¹  you must drink it at fixed times.

When those hired about five o’clock came, each received a full day’s pay. ¹ 

He ¹  answered, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me ²  will betray me.

Likewise, just as it was ¹  in the days of Lot, people ²  were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;
