You deserve praise, ¹  O Lord! Teach me your statutes!

You are good and you do good. Teach me your statutes!

To receive ¹  moral instruction ²  in skillful living, ³  in ⁴  righteousness, ⁵  justice, ⁶  and equity. ⁷ 

they did not comply with my advice, they spurned ¹  all my rebuke.

His God instructs him; he teaches him the principles of agriculture. ¹ 

He will arbitrate ¹  between many peoples and settle disputes between many ²  distant nations. ³  They will beat their swords into plowshares, ⁴  and their spears into pruning hooks. ⁵  Nations will not use weapons ⁶  against other nations, and they will no longer train for war.

Therefore what advantage does the Jew have, or what is the value of circumcision?

Be keenly aware that just as a parent disciplines his child, ¹  the Lord your God disciplines you.

and in cutting stones for their setting, ¹  and in cutting wood, to do work in every artistic craft. ²
