and tossed ¹  Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea, for his loyal love endures,

The sea has swept over Babylon. She has been covered by a multitude ¹  of its waves. ² 

And a great storm developed on the sea so that the waves began to swamp the boat. But he was asleep.

But on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,

Then ¹  after he had spent everything, a severe famine took place in that country, and he began to be in need.

but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. ¹ 

Then he will show you a large furnished room upstairs. Make preparations there.”

Then the Pharisees answered, ¹  “You haven’t been deceived too, have you? ² 

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. ¹ 

Not long after this, a hurricane-force ¹  wind called the northeaster ²  blew down from the island. ³ 

And the rest of the Jews also joined with him in this hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray with them ¹  by their hypocrisy.

So Moses extended his hand toward the sea, and the sea returned to its normal state ¹  when the sun began to rise. ²  Now the Egyptians were fleeing ³  before it, but the Lord overthrew ⁴  the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.

These men are ¹  dangerous reefs ²  at your love feasts, ³  feasting without reverence, ⁴  feeding only themselves. ⁵  They are ⁶  waterless ⁷  clouds, carried along by the winds; autumn trees without fruit ⁸  – twice dead, ⁹  uprooted;

Now ¹  the earth ²  was without shape and empty, ³  and darkness ⁴  was over the surface of the watery deep, ⁵  but the Spirit of God ⁶  was moving ⁷  over the surface ⁸  of the water. ⁹ 

Early in the morning ¹  Abimelech summoned ²  all his servants. When he told them about all these things, ³  they ⁴  were terrified.

David went on to say, “As the Lord lives, the Lord himself will strike him down. Either his day will come and he will die, or he will go down into battle and be swept away.

Meanwhile the sky was covered with dark clouds, the wind blew, and there was a heavy rainstorm. Ahab rode toward ¹  Jezreel.

So the Lord was furious ¹  with Israel and rejected them; ²  only the tribe of Judah was left.

¹ “You say, ²  ‘He is foam ³  on the face of the waters; ⁴  their portion of the land is cursed so that no one goes to their vineyard. ⁵ 

One deep stream calls out to another ¹  at the sound of your waterfalls; ²  all your billows and waves overwhelm me. ³
