Moreover, this will become my deliverance, for no godless person would come before him. ¹ 

If you say, ‘How we will pursue him, since the root of the trouble is found in him!’ ¹ 

When ¹  I hear a reproof that dishonors ²  me, then my understanding ³  prompts me to answer. ⁴ 

But you have said, ‘What does God know? Does he judge through such deep darkness? ¹ 

They detest me and maintain their distance; ¹  they do not hesitate to spit in my face.

Do you really think ¹  that one who hates justice can govern? ²  And will you declare guilty the supremely righteous ³  One,

Will you rely on it because its strength is great? Will you commit ¹  your labor to it?

He drove his enemies back; he made them a permanent target for insults. ¹ 

It is burned ¹  and cut down. They die because you are displeased with them. ² 

saying, ¹  “Don’t touch my chosen ²  ones! Don’t harm my prophets!”

The Lord is on my side, ¹  I am not afraid! What can people do to me? ² 

Surely the king’s authority ¹  is absolute; ²  no one can say ³  to him, “What are you doing?”

Do not go out into the countryside. Do not travel on the roads. For the enemy is there with sword in hand. ¹  They are spreading terror everywhere.” ² 

A lion has roared! ¹  Who is not afraid? The sovereign Lord has spoken! Who can refuse to prophesy? ² 

From you, O Nineveh, ¹  one has marched forth who plots evil against the Lord, a wicked military strategist. ² 

Jesus said to him, “Once again it is written: ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’” ¹ 

So Herodias nursed a grudge against him and wanted to kill him. But ¹  she could not

Jesus ¹  answered him, ²  “It is said, ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’” ³ 

Or are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we really stronger than he is? ¹ 

in whom we have boldness and confident access ¹  to God ²  because of ³  Christ’s ⁴  faithfulness. ⁵
