When the seventh day comes ¹  he must shave all his hair – his head, his beard, his eyebrows, all his hair – and he must wash his clothes, bathe his body in water, and so be clean. ² 

when my steps ¹  were bathed ²  with butter ³  and the rock poured out for me streams of olive oil! ⁴ 

These were the sons born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, ¹  Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon – the mother of these four was Bathsheba ²  the daughter of Ammiel. ³ 

His eyes are like doves by streams of water, washed in milk, mounted like jewels.

He must put on a holy linen tunic, ¹  linen leggings are to cover his body, ²  and he is to wrap himself with a linen sash ³  and wrap his head with a linen turban. ⁴  They are holy garments, so he must bathe ⁵  his body in water and put them on.

he saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit,

Bathsheba bowed down on the floor before ¹  the king. The king said, “What do you want?”

Whatever you decide ¹  on a matter, it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.

See how he scattered ¹  his lightning ²  about him; he has covered the depths ³  of the sea.

There is a generation who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not washed ¹  from their filthiness. ² 

and Solomon supplied Hiram annually with 20,000 cors ¹  of wheat as provision for his royal court, ²  as well as 20,000 baths ³  of pure ⁴  olive oil. ⁵ 

So Jacob told his household and all who were with him, “Get rid of the foreign gods you have among you. ¹  Purify yourselves and change your clothes. ² 

If there is something on the bed or on the furniture she sits on, ¹  when he touches it ²  he will be unclean until evening,
