After these things happened, the cupbearer ¹  to the king of Egypt and the royal baker ²  offended ³  their master, the king of Egypt.

Pharaoh was enraged with his servants, and he put me in prison in the house of the captain of the guards – me and the chief baker.

Then Joseph said, “If your money is gone, bring your livestock, and I will give you food ¹  in exchange for ²  your livestock.”

Then you are to take them from their hands and burn ¹  them ²  on the altar for a burnt offering, for a soothing aroma before the Lord. It is an offering made by fire to the Lord.

They are to eat those things by which atonement was made ¹  to consecrate and to set them apart, but no one else ²  may eat them, for they are holy.

He made the vessels which were on the table out of pure gold, its ¹  plates, its ladles, its pitchers, and its bowls, to be used in pouring out offerings.

“‘When you present an offering of grain baked in an oven, it must be made of ¹  choice wheat flour baked into unleavened loaves ²  mixed with olive oil or ³  unleavened wafers smeared ⁴  with olive oil.

When the sun goes down he will be clean, and afterward he may eat from the holy offerings, because they are his food.

but if a priest buys a person with his own money, ¹  that person ²  may eat the holy offerings, ³  and those born in the priest’s ⁴  own house may eat his food. ⁵ 

and you must set them in two rows, six in a row, ¹  on the ceremonially pure table before the Lord.

You must offer up a cake of the first of your finely ground flour ¹  as a raised offering; as you offer the raised offering of the threshing floor, so you must offer it up.

The elders of his house stood over him and tried to lift him from the ground, but he was unwilling, and refused to eat food with them.

Then his wife Jezebel came in and said to him, “Why do you have a bitter attitude and refuse to eat?”

You imparted your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths; you provided water for their thirst.

I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my allotted portion. ¹ 

He provides grass ¹  for the cattle, and crops for people to cultivate, ²  so they can produce food from the ground, ³ 

You must ¹  actively help the hungry and feed the oppressed. ²  Then your light will dispel the darkness, ³  and your darkness will be transformed into noonday. ⁴ 

“‘See here – this was the iniquity ¹  of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had majesty, abundance of food, and enjoyed carefree ease, but they did not help ²  the poor and needy.

You will plant crops, but will not harvest them; you will squeeze oil from the olives, ¹  but you will have no oil to rub on your bodies; ²  you will squeeze juice from the grapes, but you will have no wine to drink. ³ 

So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves ¹  left over by the people who had eaten.
