As David was going up the Mount of Olives, he was weeping as he went; his head was covered and his feet were bare. All the people who were with him also had their heads covered and were weeping as they went up.

He also made ten bronze basins, each of which could hold about 240 gallons. ¹  Each basin was six feet in diameter; ²  there was one basin for each stand.

The horses’ ¹  hooves pounded the ground; ²  the stallions galloped madly. ³ 

This is exactly what happened to him. The people trampled him to death in the city gate.

He even killed an Egyptian who was seven and a half feet ¹  tall. The Egyptian had a spear as big as the crossbeam of a weaver’s loom; Benaiah attacked ²  him with a club. He grabbed the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear.

Harbona, ¹  one of the king’s eunuchs, said, “Indeed, there is the gallows that Haman made for Mordecai, who spoke out in the king’s behalf. It stands near Haman’s home and is seventy-five feet ²  high.” The king said, “Hang him on it!”

That is why snares surround you, and why sudden fear terrifies you,

They will fall down, ¹  but we ²  will stand firm. ³ 

For I am about to stumble, and I am in constant pain. ¹ 

For God is the judge! ¹  He brings one down and exalts another. ²
