For anyone who acts dishonestly in these ways is abhorrent ¹  to the Lord your God.

If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; ¹  if you remove wicked behavior far from your tent,

I broke the fangs ¹  of the wicked, and made him drop ²  his prey from his teeth.

My God, rescue me from the power ¹  of the wicked, from the hand of the cruel oppressor!

Those who enact unjust policies are as good as dead, ¹  those who are always instituting unfair regulations, ² 

“‘Sure to be judged ¹  is the king who builds his palace using injustice and treats people unfairly while adding its upper rooms. ²  He makes his countrymen work for him for nothing. He does not pay them for their labor.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, ¹  practicing homosexuals, ² 

You must not do injustice in the regulation of measures, whether of length, weight, or volume. ¹ 

who, moreover, do no wrong, but follow in his footsteps. ¹ 

What shall we say then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not!

By forsaking the right path they have gone astray, because they followed the way of Balaam son of Bosor, ¹  who loved the wages of unrighteousness, ² 

and do not present your members to sin as instruments ¹  to be used for unrighteousness, ²  but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments ³  to be used for righteousness.

¹ Because Christ also suffered ²  once for sins, the just for the unjust, ³  to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but ⁴  by being made alive in the spirit. ⁵ 

You were blameless in your behavior ¹  from the day you were created, until sin was discovered in you.

so that you may be like ¹  your Father in heaven, since he causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

I have ¹  a hope in God (a hope ²  that ³  these men ⁴  themselves accept too) that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. ⁵ 

suffering harm as the wages for their harmful ways. ¹  By considering it a pleasure to carouse in broad daylight, ²  they are stains and blemishes, indulging ³  in their deceitful pleasures when they feast together with you.

Thus the poor have hope, and iniquity ¹  shuts its mouth. ² 

Will you speak wickedly ¹  on God’s behalf? ²  Will you speak deceitfully for him?

When the godly see this, they rejoice, and every sinner ¹  shuts his mouth.
