He thought his own people ¹  would understand that God was delivering them ²  through him, ³  but they did not understand. ⁴ 

God saw ¹  the Israelites, and God understood…. ² 

Kenaniah, the leader of the Levites, was in charge of transport, for he was well-informed on this matter; ¹ 

because they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

(Now none of those present at the table ¹  understood ²  why Jesus ³  said this to Judas. ⁴ 

in the first year of his reign ¹  I, Daniel, came to understand from the sacred books ²  that, according to the word of the LORD ³  disclosed to the prophet Jeremiah, the years for the fulfilling of the desolation of Jerusalem ⁴  were seventy in number.

Yet ¹  his parents ²  did not understand ³  the remark ⁴  he made ⁵  to them.

The king then inquired of the wise men who were discerners of the times – for it was the royal custom to confer with all those who were proficient in laws and legalities. ¹ 

that has come to you. Just as in the entire world this gospel ¹  is bearing fruit and growing, so it has also been bearing fruit and growing ²  among you from the first day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth.

I cared ¹  for you in the wilderness, in the dry desert where no water was. ² 

But they did not understand this statement and were afraid to ask him.

But Jesus ¹  perceived their deceit ²  and said to them,

And the light shines on ¹  in the darkness, ²  but ³  the darkness has not mastered it. ⁴ 

(They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father.) ¹ 

They ¹  will do these things because they have not known the Father or me. ² 

For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor? ¹ 

Our ancestors in Egypt failed to appreciate your miraculous deeds, they failed to remember your many acts of loyal love, and they rebelled at the sea, by the Red Sea. ¹ 

When the governor ¹  had read ²  the letter, ³  he asked ⁴  what province he was from. ⁵  When he learned ⁶  that he was from Cilicia, ⁷ 

For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to advise him? ¹  But we have the mind of Christ.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. But when I became an adult, ¹  I set aside childish ways.
