Shabbethai and Jozabad, leaders ¹  of the Levites, were in charge of the external work for the temple of God;

The sluggard says, “There is a lion ¹  outside! I will be killed in the middle of the streets!” ² 

Conduct yourselves ¹  with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunities.

In this way you will live ¹  a decent life before outsiders and not be in need. ²

and the avenger of blood finds him outside the borders of the town of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the slayer, he will not be guilty of blood,

All of these were built with the best ¹  stones, chiseled to the right size ²  and cut with a saw on all sides, ³  from the foundation to the edge of the roof ⁴  and from the outside to the great courtyard.
