¹ The Lord said to Moses, ² 

The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron:

¹ The Lord spoke to Moses:

Then Elihu answered:

Elihu said further: ² 

Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. ¹  There is no end to the making ²  of many books, and much study is exhausting to the body. ³ 

The Lord spoke to me again:

The Lord spoke further to Jeremiah. ¹ 

The Lord spoke still further to Jeremiah. ¹ 

The word of the Lord came to me:

So if perfection had in fact been possible through the Levitical priesthood – for on that basis ¹  the people received the law – what further need would there have been for another priest to arise, said to be in the order of Melchizedek and not in Aaron’s order?

In addition, the officers are to say to the troops, “Who among you is afraid and fainthearted? He may go home so that he will not make his fellow soldier’s ¹  heart as fearful ²  as his own.”

Then the high priest tore his clothes and declared, ¹  “He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Now ²  you have heard the blasphemy!

Then the king said to Queen Esther, “In Susa the citadel the Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men and the ten sons of Haman! What then have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? What is your request? It shall be given to you. What other petition do you have? It shall be done.”

But when Elihu saw ¹  that the three men had no further reply, ²  he became very angry.

And further, ¹  when you say that his anger does not punish, ²  and that he does not know transgression! ³ 

When they had eaten enough to be satisfied, ¹  they lightened the ship by throwing the wheat ²  into the sea.

Then Job continued ²  his speech:

The word of the Lord came to me:

For we groan while we are in this tent, ¹  since we are weighed down, ²  because we do not want to be unclothed, but clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
