I sought the Lord’s help ¹  and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

Let those delivered by the Lord speak out, ¹  those whom he delivered ²  from the power ³  of the enemy,

Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through this one ¹  forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.

But then you turned right around ¹  and showed that you did not honor me. ²  Each of you took back your male and female slaves whom you had freed as they desired, and you forced them to be your slaves again. ³

The Lord provided a deliverer ¹  for Israel and they were freed from Syria’s power. ²  The Israelites once more lived in security. ³ 

At once the bleeding stopped, ¹  and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.

Immediately ¹  Zechariah’s ²  mouth was opened and his tongue ³  released, ⁴  and he spoke, blessing God.

But God raised him up, ¹  having released ²  him from the pains ³  of death, because it was not possible for him to be held in its power. ⁴ 

When they were released, Peter and John ¹  went to their fellow believers ²  and reported everything the high priests and the elders had said to them.

But they are justified ¹  freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Rather it is because of his ¹  love ²  for you and his faithfulness to the promise ³  he solemnly vowed ⁴  to your ancestors ⁵  that the Lord brought you out with great power, ⁶  redeeming ⁷  you from the place of slavery, from the power ⁸  of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

The cities that the Philistines had captured from Israel were returned to Israel, from Ekron to Gath. Israel also delivered their territory from the control ¹  of the Philistines. There was also peace between Israel and the Amorites.

This happened because the Israelites sinned against the Lord their God, who brought them up from the land of Egypt and freed them from the power of ¹  Pharaoh king of Egypt. They worshiped ²  other gods;
