So he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Stand up among all these people.” ¹ 

The female servants came forward with their children and bowed down. ¹ 

Isaiah replied, “This is your sign from the Lord confirming that the Lord will do what he has said. Do you want the shadow to move ahead ten steps or to go back ten steps?” ¹ 

“Then the tent of meeting with the camp of the Levites will travel in the middle of the camps. They will travel in the same order as they camped, each in his own place ¹  under his standard.

He then made the clans of Judah approach and the clan of the Zerahites was selected. He made the clan of the Zerahites approach and Zabdi ¹  was selected. ² 

When they approached the Israelite camp, the Israelites rose up and struck down the Moabites, who then ran from them. The Israelites ¹  thoroughly defeated ²  Moab.

As for the form of their faces, they were the faces whose appearance I had seen at the Kebar River. Each one moved straight ahead.

All of them intend ¹  to do violence; every face is determined. ²  They take prisoners as easily as one scoops up sand. ³ 

After this the angelic messenger ¹  who had been speaking to me went out and said, “Look, see what is leaving.”

Then Jesus, because he knew everything that was going to happen to him, ¹  came and asked them, “Who are you looking for?” ² 

So they came near and carried them away in their tunics to a place outside the camp just as Moses had spoken.

When you blow an alarm, ¹  then the camps that are located ²  on the east side must begin to travel. ³ 

The standard of the camp of Reuben set out according to their companies; over his company was Elizur son of Shedeur.

And the Kohathites set out, carrying the articles for the sanctuary; ¹  the tabernacle was to be set up ²  before they arrived. ³ 

And the standard of the camp of the Ephraimites set out according to their companies; over his company was Elishama son of Ammihud.

Do not honor yourself before the king, and do not stand in the place of great men;

So Samuel took the horn full of olive oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers. The Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day onward. Then Samuel got up and went to Ramah.

Brothers and sisters, ¹  I do not consider myself to have attained this. Instead I am single-minded: ²  Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead,

These were the traveling arrangements ¹  of the Israelites according to their companies when they traveled. ² 

¹  And the cloud of the Lord was over them by day, when they traveled ²  from the camp.
