for the Lord your God goes with you to fight on your behalf against your enemies to give you victory.” ¹ 

But Saul replied to David, “You aren’t able to go against this Philistine and fight him! You’re just a boy! He has been a warrior from his youth!”

When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had invaded and intended to attack Jerusalem, ¹ 

The Lord your God is about to go ¹  ahead of you; he will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt ² 

Be strong and act like men, you Philistines, or else you will wind up serving the Hebrews the way they have served you! Act like men and fight!”

Then the Philistine said, “I defy Israel’s troops this day! Give me a man so we can fight ¹  each other!”

David said to Saul, “Don’t let anyone be discouraged. ¹  Your servant will go and fight this Philistine!”

One of you makes a thousand run away, ¹  for the Lord your God fights for you ²  as he promised you he would. ³ 

pick the best and most capable ¹  of your master’s sons, place him on his father’s throne, and defend ²  your master’s dynasty.”

And they will be like warriors trampling the mud of the streets in battle. They will fight, for the Lord will be with them, and will defeat the enemy cavalry. ¹ 

Moreover, Judah will fight at ¹  Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered up ²  – gold, silver, and clothing in great abundance.

but if ¹  it is from God, you will not be able to stop them, or you may even be found ²  fighting against God.” He convinced them, ³ 

When you approach a city to wage war against it, offer it terms of peace.

The men of Israel marched out to fight Benjamin; they ¹  arranged their battle lines against Gibeah.
