And when he ¹  comes, he will prove the world wrong ²  concerning sin and ³  righteousness and ⁴  judgment –

When it was already very early morning, Jesus stood on the beach, but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

And now, brothers, I know you acted in ignorance, ¹  as your rulers did too.

I know that after I am gone ¹  fierce wolves ²  will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

Most excellent Felix, ¹  we acknowledge this everywhere and in every way ²  with all gratitude. ³ 

because what can be known about God is plain to them, ¹  because God has made it plain to them.

Now we know that God’s judgment is in accordance with truth ¹  against those who practice such things.

For we know that the law is spiritual – but I am unspiritual, sold into slavery to sin. ¹ 

For I decided to be concerned about nothing ¹  among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

The latter do so from love because they know that I am placed here for the defense of the gospel.

And since I am sure of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for the sake of your progress ¹  and joy in the faith, ² 

We know, ¹  brothers and sisters ²  loved by God, that he has chosen you, ³ 

But we know that the law is good if someone uses it legitimately,

You know ¹  that such a person is twisted by sin ²  and is conscious of it himself. ³ 

Above all, you do well if you recognize ¹  this: ²  No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own imagination, ³ 

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! Certainly, I ¹  would not have known sin except through the law. For indeed I would not have known what it means to desire something belonging to someone else ²  if the law had not said, “Do not covet.” ³ 

But this knowledge is not shared by all. And some, by being accustomed to idols in former times, eat this food as an idol sacrifice, and their conscience, because it is weak, is defiled.

Then the eyes of both of them opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

“‘If any person ¹  sins unintentionally, then he must bring a yearling female goat for a purification offering.
