Then he presented the burnt offering ram and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram,

“‘Then the priest must present all these ¹  before the Lord and offer ²  his purification offering and his burnt offering.

one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb in its first year, for a burnt offering;

one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb in its first year, for a burnt offering;

And when you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering or a sacrifice for discharging a vow or as a peace offering to the Lord,

It is a continual burnt offering that was instituted on Mount Sinai as a pleasing aroma, an offering made by fire to the Lord.

So we decided to build this altar, not for burnt offerings and sacrifices,

The next morning the people got up early and built an altar there. They offered up burnt sacrifices and token of peace. ¹ 

David then said, “This is the place where the temple of the Lord God will be, along with the altar for burnt sacrifices for Israel.”

Then Solomon offered burnt sacrifices to the Lord on the altar of the Lord which he had built in front of the temple’s porch. ¹
