So the men inside ¹  reached out ²  and pulled Lot back into the house ³  as they shut the door.

From the brightness in front of him came hail and fiery coals. ¹ 

Your thunderous voice was heard in the wind; the lightning bolts lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook. ¹ 

He sent hail along with the rain; ¹  there was lightning in their land. ² 

The chariot drivers will crack their whips; ¹  the chariot wheels will shake the ground; ²  the chariot horses ³  will gallop; ⁴  the war chariots ⁵  will bolt forward! ⁶ 

When ¹  the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran off and spread the news ²  in the town ³  and countryside.

So ¹  he said to them, “I saw ²  Satan fall ³  like lightning ⁴  from heaven.

But a married man is concerned about the things of the world, how to please his wife,

When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven ¹  and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the Lord’s splendor filled the temple.

After that a voice roars; he thunders with an exalted voice, and he does not hold back his lightning bolts ¹  when his voice is heard.

He causes the clouds to arise from the end of the earth, makes lightning bolts accompany the rain, and brings the wind out of his storehouses.

The chariots ¹  race madly ²  through the streets, they rush back and forth ³  in the broad plazas; they look ⁴  like lightning bolts, ⁵  they dash here and there ⁶  like flashes of lightning. ⁷ 

He is as bright as lightning; ¹  a two-pronged lightning bolt flashes from his hand. ²  This is the outward display of his power. ³ 

The ¹  herdsmen ran off, went into the town, ²  and told everything that had happened to the demon-possessed men.

Now ¹  the herdsmen ran off and spread the news in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened.

Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume ¹  them?” ² 

And the donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with ¹  his sword drawn in his hand, so the donkey turned aside from the road and went into the field. But Balaam beat the donkey, to make her turn back to the road.

Elijah replied to them, ¹  “If I am indeed a prophet, may fire come down from the sky and consume you and your fifty soldiers!” Fire from God ²  came down from the sky and consumed him and his fifty soldiers.

While this one was still speaking, ¹  another messenger arrived ²  and said, “The fire of God ³  has fallen from heaven ⁴  and has burned up the sheep and the servants – it has consumed them! And I – only I alone – escaped to tell you!”

I, the Lord, once called ¹  you a thriving olive tree, one that produced beautiful fruit. But I will set you ²  on fire, fire that will blaze with a mighty roar. ³  Then all your branches will be good for nothing. ⁴
