Meanwhile the boat, already far from land, ¹  was taking a beating from the waves because the wind was against it.

Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Then ¹  he left them, got back into the boat, and went to the other side.

So ¹  when they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followed ²  him.

Then the soldiers cut the ropes ¹  of the ship’s boat and let it drift away. ² 

But some boats from Tiberias ¹  came to shore ²  near the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. ³ 

And such a large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat to sit while ¹  the whole crowd stood on the shore.

Now when Jesus heard this he went away from there privately in a boat to an isolated place. But when the crowd heard about it, ¹  they followed him on foot from the towns. ² 

Immediately Jesus ¹  made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dispersed the crowds.

Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in their ¹  boat mending nets.

Immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

Because of the crowd, he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him so the crowd ¹  would not press toward him.

Immediately Jesus ¹  made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dispersed the crowd.

He ¹  saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.

Then ¹  all the people of the Gerasenes ²  and the surrounding region ³  asked Jesus ⁴  to leave them alone, ⁵  for they were seized with great fear. ⁶  So ⁷  he got into the boat and left. ⁸ 

got into a boat, and started to cross the lake ¹  to Capernaum. ²  (It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.) ³ 

Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, ¹  they caught sight of Jesus walking on the lake, ²  approaching the boat, and they were frightened.

So when the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats ¹  and came to Capernaum ²  looking for Jesus.

Meanwhile the other disciples came with the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from land, only about a hundred yards. ¹ 

The next day the crowd that remained on the other side of the lake ¹  realized that only one small boat ²  had been there, and that Jesus had not boarded ³  it with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone.
