After Jesus ¹  took him aside privately, away from the crowd, he put his fingers in the man’s ²  ears, and after spitting, he touched his tongue. ³ 

because they have turned away from following him, and have not understood ¹  any of his ways,

Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways – do not wander into her pathways;

But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts. They have turned aside and gone their own way. ¹

Make sure you do not turn away to serve and worship other gods! ¹
