Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man ¹  does not live by bread alone.’” ² 

So when we could bear it no longer, we decided to stay on in Athens ¹  alone.

But how can I alone bear up under the burden of your hardship and strife?

It is not with you alone that I am making this covenant by oath,

If I ate my morsel of bread myself, and did not share any of it with orphans ¹  –

So the Lord ¹  let him alone. (At that time ²  she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” referring to ³  the circumcision.)

I am not able to bear this entire people alone, ¹  because it ²  is too heavy for me!

I will lie down and sleep peacefully, ¹  for you, Lord, make me safe and secure. ² 

I will come and tell about ¹  the mighty acts of the sovereign Lord. I will proclaim your justice – yours alone.

The Lord God, the God of Israel, deserves praise! ¹  He alone accomplishes amazing things! ² 

You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

So now, leave me alone ¹  so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them, and I will make from you a great nation.”

I loathe ¹  it; ²  I do not want to live forever; leave me alone, ³  for my days are a vapor! ⁴ 

Proud men will be brought low, arrogant men will be humiliated; ¹  the Lord alone will be exalted ²  in that day.

I alone was left to see this great vision. My strength drained from ¹  me, and my vigor disappeared; ²  I was without energy. ³ 

And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.

But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her? She has done a good service for me.

After ¹  the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. So ²  they kept silent and told no one ³  at that time ⁴  anything of what they had seen.

So Jesus said, “Leave her alone. She has kept it for the day of my burial. ¹ 

So in this case I say to you, stay away from these men and leave them alone, because if this plan or this undertaking originates with people, ¹  it will come to nothing, ²
