But may all who take shelter ¹  in you be happy! ²  May they continually ³  shout for joy! ⁴  Shelter them ⁵  so that those who are loyal to you ⁶  may rejoice! ⁷ 

Its foliage was attractive and its fruit plentiful; on it there was food enough for all. Under it the wild animals ¹  used to seek shade, and in its branches the birds of the sky used to nest. All creatures ²  used to feed themselves from it.

We sailed slowly ¹  for many days and arrived with difficulty off Cnidus. ²  Because the wind prevented us from going any farther, ³  we sailed under the lee ⁴  of Crete off Salmone. ⁵ 

They brayed ¹  like animals among the bushes and were huddled together ²  under the nettles.

Under the lotus trees it lies, in the secrecy of the reeds and the marsh.

Consequently ¹  the Lord provides safety for the oppressed; ²  he provides safety in times of trouble. ³ 

Many are appalled when they see me, ¹  but you are my secure shelter.

It is better to take shelter ¹  in the Lord than to trust in people.

It is better to take shelter in the Lord than to trust in princes.

The sun will not harm you by day, or the moon by night. ¹ 

Who are these who float along ¹  like a cloud, who fly like doves to their shelters? ² 

The seacoast ¹  will be used as pasture lands ²  by the shepherds and as pens for their flocks.

But if we have food and shelter, we will be satisfied with that. ¹
