But the angel said ¹  to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know ²  that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. ³ 

For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels ¹  in heaven.

“But as for that day or hour no one knows it – neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son ¹  – except the Father.

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, ¹  the angel Gabriel ²  was sent by ³  God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, ⁴ 

So ¹  the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, ²  Mary, for you have found favor ³  with God!

Mary ¹  said to the angel, “How will this be, since I have not had sexual relations with ²  a man?”

Suddenly ¹  a vast, heavenly army ²  appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,’ ¹ 

This ¹  report ²  about Jesus ³  circulated ⁴  throughout ⁵  Judea and all the surrounding country.

He ¹  sent messengers on ahead of him. ²  As they went along, ³  they entered a Samaritan village to make things ready in advance ⁴  for him,

But the one who denies me before men will be denied before God’s angels.

But during the night an angel of the Lord ¹  opened ²  the doors of the prison, ³  led them out, ⁴  and said,

All ¹  who were sitting in the council ²  looked intently at Stephen ³  and saw his face was like the face of an angel. ⁴ 

You ¹  received the law by decrees given by angels, ²  but you did not obey ³  it.” ⁴ 

(For the Sadducees say there is no resurrection, or angel, or spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.) ¹ 

For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong ¹  and whom I serve ²  came to me ³ 

Do you not know that we will judge angels? Why not ordinary matters!

For he did not put the world to come, ¹  about which we are speaking, ²  under the control of angels.

For surely his concern is not for angels, but he is concerned for Abraham’s descendants.
