They ¹  cried out, “Son of God, leave us alone! ²  Have you come here to torment us before the time?” ³ 

Then ¹  the entire town ²  came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.

Now when Jesus heard this he went away from there privately in a boat to an isolated place. But when the crowd heard about it, ¹  they followed him on foot from the towns. ² 

and said, “I tell you the truth, ¹  unless you turn around and become like little children, ²  you will never ³  enter the kingdom of heaven!

Then ¹  Jesus ²  got up early in the morning when it was still very dark, departed, and went out to a deserted place, and there he spent time in prayer. ³ 

Then, ¹  after he went into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

Then ¹  Jesus ²  turned ³  to his ⁴  disciples and said privately, “Blessed ⁵  are the eyes that see what you see!

But Jesus called for the children, ¹  saying, “Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of God ²  belongs to such as these. ³ 

Neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us. Look, he has done nothing ¹  deserving death. ² 

But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. ¹  He bent down ²  and saw only the strips of linen cloth; ³  then he went home, ⁴  wondering ⁵  what had happened. ⁶ 

Then one of them, named Cleopas, answered him, ¹  “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who doesn’t know ²  the things that have happened there ³  in these days?”

Jesus said, “Have ¹  the people sit down.” (Now there was a lot of grass in that place.) ²  So the men ³  sat down, about five thousand in number.

(Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God – he ¹  has seen the Father.) ² 

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

About him all the prophets testify, ¹  that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins ²  through his name.”

Now those who had been scattered because of the persecution that took place over Stephen ¹  went as far as ²  Phoenicia, ³  Cyprus, ⁴  and Antioch, ⁵  speaking the message ⁶  to no one but Jews.

and as they were leaving they said to one another, ¹  “This man is not doing anything deserving ²  death or imprisonment.”

He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, ¹  who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

For who among men knows the things of a man except the man’s spirit within him? So too, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

But if anyone has caused sadness, he has not saddened me alone, but to some extent (not to exaggerate) ¹  he has saddened all of you as well.
