So I said to them, What is this high place you go to?’” (So it is called “High Place” ¹  to this day.)

Make this announcement in ¹  the fortresses of Ashdod and in the fortresses in the land of Egypt. Say this: “Gather on the hills around Samaria! ²  Observe the many acts of violence ³  taking place within the city, ⁴  the oppressive deeds ⁵  occurring in it.” ⁶ 

And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.

When he left there, Jesus went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up a mountain, where he sat down.

Then those who are in Judea must flee ¹  to the mountains. Those ²  who are inside the city must depart. Those ³  who are out in the country must not enter it,

and carrying his own cross ¹  he went out to the place called “The Place of the Skull” ²  (called in Aramaic ³  Golgotha). ⁴ 

Then they returned to Jerusalem ¹  from the mountain ²  called the Mount of Olives ³  (which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey ⁴  away).

When David had gone a short way beyond the summit, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth was there to meet him. He had a couple of donkeys that were saddled, and on them were two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred raisin cakes, a hundred baskets of summer fruit, ¹  and a container of wine.

After this Manasseh ¹  built up the outer wall of the City of David ²  on the west side of the Gihon in the valley to the entrance of the Fish Gate and all around the terrace; he made it much higher. He placed army officers in all the fortified cities in Judah.

The Lord God of Israel who rules over all ¹  says, “I will restore the people of Judah to their land and to their towns. When I do, they will again say ²  of Jerusalem, ³  ‘May the Lord bless you, you holy mountain, the place where righteousness dwells.’ ⁴ 

Joseph is a fruitful bough, ¹  a fruitful bough near a spring whose branches ²  climb over the wall.

and from Bamoth to the valley that is in the country of Moab, near the top of Pisgah, which overlooks the wilderness. ¹ 

the king of Dor – near Naphath Dor – (one), the king of Goyim – near Gilgal – (one),

Above the Horse Gate the priests worked, each in front of his house.

He will not grow rich, and his wealth will not endure, nor will his possessions ¹  spread over the land.

May he send you help from his temple; ¹  from Zion may he give you support!

He raises the poor from the dirt, and lifts up the needy from the garbage pile, ¹ 

Go up into the rocky cliffs, hide in the ground. Get away from the dreadful judgment of the Lord, ¹  from his royal splendor!

Send rams as tribute to the ruler of the land, ¹  from Sela in the desert ²  to the hill of Daughter Zion.

Look, ¹  the Lord is coming out of his dwelling place! He will descend and march on the earth’s mountaintops! ²
