they will say about me, “Yes, the Lord is a powerful deliverer.”’” ¹  All who are angry at him will cower before him. ² 

For this reason deliverance ¹  is far from us ²  and salvation does not reach us. We wait for light, ³  but see only darkness; ⁴  we wait for ⁵  a bright light, ⁶  but live ⁷  in deep darkness. ⁸ 

“Oh people of Jerusalem, purify your hearts from evil ¹  so that you may yet be delivered. How long will you continue to harbor up wicked schemes within you?

The Lord also will deliver the homes ¹  of Judah first, so that the splendor of the kingship ²  of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not exceed that of Judah.

You will be hated by everyone because of my name. ¹  But the one who endures to the end will be saved. ² 

“Blessed are you who hunger ¹  now, for you will be satisfied. ²  “Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. ³ 

But when these things ¹  begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption ²  is drawing near.”

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, ¹  but that the world should be saved through him.

And Isaiah cries out on behalf of Israel, “Though the number of the children ¹  of Israel are as the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved,

because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord ¹  and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light.

He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, ¹  who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

He ¹  delivered us from so great a risk of death, and he will deliver us. We have set our hope on him ²  that ³  he will deliver us yet again,

Now, brothers and sisters, ¹  if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? ²  In that case the offense of the cross ³  has been removed. ⁴ 

In him ¹  we have redemption through his blood, ²  the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you are saved! ¹  –

for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance ¹  through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

He called you to this salvation ¹  through our gospel, so that you may possess the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. ² 

and he entered once for all into the most holy place not by the blood of goats and calves but by his own blood, and so he himself secured ¹  eternal redemption.
