An ¹  angel of the Lord, ²  standing on the right side of the altar of incense, appeared ³  to him.

But any sin offering from which some of its blood is brought into the Meeting Tent to make atonement in the sanctuary must not be eaten. It must be burned up in the fire. ¹ 

So you are to appoint Aaron and his sons, and they will be responsible for their priesthood; ¹  but the unauthorized person ²  who comes near must be put to death.”

But to the Kohathites he gave none, because the service of the holy things, which they carried ¹  on their shoulders, was their responsibility. ² 

So the Lord graciously attended to Hannah, and she was able to conceive and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. The boy Samuel grew up at the Lord’s sanctuary. ¹ 

They were in charge of the meeting tent and the holy place, and helped their relatives, the descendants of Aaron, in the service of the Lord’s temple. ¹ 

He made ornamental chains ¹  and put them on top of the pillars. He also made one hundred pomegranate-shaped ornaments and arranged them within the chains.

Stand in the sanctuary and, together with the Levites, represent the family divisions of your countrymen. ¹ 

He brought them to the border of his holy land, to this mountainous land ¹  which his right hand ²  acquired.

א (Alef) ¹ Alas! ²  Gold has lost its luster; ³  pure gold loses value. ⁴  Jewels ⁵  are scattered on every street corner. ⁶ 

For the chambers on the outer court were 87½ feet ¹  long, while those facing the temple were 175 feet ²  long.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain, ¹ 

And he did not enter to offer ¹  himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the sanctuary year after year with blood that is not his own,

Therefore, brothers and sisters, ¹  since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

and the seven angels who had the seven plagues came out of the temple, dressed in clean bright linen, wearing wide golden belts ¹  around their chests.

But you and your sons with you are responsible for your priestly duties, for everything at the altar and within the curtain. And you must serve. I give you the priesthood as a gift for service; but the unauthorized person who approaches must be put to death.”

When it reverts ¹  in the jubilee, the field will be holy to the Lord like a permanently dedicated field; ²  it will become the priest’s property. ³ 

No longer may the Israelites approach the tent of meeting, or else they will bear their sin ¹  and die.

Adonijah feared Solomon, so he got up and went and grabbed hold of the horns of the altar. ¹ 

Once the priests left the holy place, a cloud filled the Lord’s temple.
