Your chosen ¹  cities have become a desert; Zion has become a desert, Jerusalem ²  is a desolate ruin.

But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts. They have turned aside and gone their own way. ¹ 

Then I perceived that the glory of the God of Israel was there, as in the vision I had seen earlier in the valley.

As it turned out, ¹  among these young men ²  were some from Judah: ³  Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. ⁴ 

And ¹  a voice from heaven said, ²  “This is my one dear Son; ³  in him ⁴  I take great delight.” ⁵ 

During the feast the governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the crowd, ¹  whomever they wanted.

And a voice came from heaven: “You are my one dear Son; ¹  in you I take great delight.” ² 

He has helped his servant Israel, remembering ¹  his mercy, ² 

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased ¹  to give you the kingdom.

From Paul, ¹  called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus ²  by the will of God, and Sosthenes, our brother,

If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with ¹  the Spirit.

And all who will behave ¹  in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God. ² 

And so ¹  all of them who have not believed the truth but have delighted in evil will be condemned. ² 

Then she will reply to me, “Drink, and I’ll draw water for your camels too.” May that woman be the one whom the Lord has chosen for my master’s son.’

Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer the priests were to blow the trumpets before the ark of God; Obed-Edom and Jehiel were also guardians ¹  of the ark.

All of you, gather together and listen! Who among them ¹  announced these things? The Lord’s ally ²  will carry out his desire against Babylon; he will exert his power against the Babylonians. ³ 

“You have surely noticed what these people are saying, haven’t you? They are saying, ¹  ‘The Lord has rejected the two families of Israel and Judah ²  that he chose.’ So they have little regard that my people will ever again be a nation. ³ 

Then the king of the north will advance and will build siege mounds and capture a well-fortified city. ¹  The forces of the south will not prevail, not even his finest contingents. ²  They will have no strength to prevail.

You march out to deliver your people, to deliver your special servant. ¹  You strike the leader of the wicked nation, ²  laying him open from the lower body to the neck. ³  Selah.

But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters ¹  loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning ²  for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
