Indeed, all the tables are covered with vomit; no place is untouched. ¹ 

Then the Lord commanded ¹  the fish and it disgorged Jonah on dry land.

The wealth that he consumed ¹  he vomits up, God will make him throw it out ²  of his stomach.

Like a dog that returns to its vomit, ¹  so a fool repeats his folly. ² 

you will vomit up ¹  the little bit you have eaten, and will have wasted your pleasant words. ² 

So do not make the land vomit you out because you defile it ¹  just as it has vomited out the nations ²  that were before you.

“Moab has vaunted itself against me. So make him drunk with the wine of my wrath ¹  until he splashes ²  around in his own vomit, until others treat him as a laughingstock.

They are illustrations of this true proverb: ¹  “A dog returns to its own vomit,” ²  and “A sow, after washing herself, ³  wallows in the mire.” ⁴ 

The Lord has made them undiscerning; ¹  they lead Egypt astray in all she does, so that she is like a drunk sliding around in his own vomit. ² 

Therefore ¹  the land has become unclean and I have brought the punishment for its iniquity upon it, ²  so that the land has vomited out its inhabitants.

“‘You must be sure to obey all my statutes and regulations, ¹  so that ²  the land to which I am about to bring you to take up residence there does not vomit you out.

When you find ¹  honey, eat only what is sufficient for you, lest you become stuffed ²  with it and vomit it up. ³ 

Then the Lord said to me, ¹  “Tell them that the Lord God of Israel who rules over all ²  says, ³  ‘Drink this cup ⁴  until you get drunk and vomit. Drink until you fall down and can’t get up. ⁵  For I will send wars sweeping through you.’ ⁶ 

So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going ¹  to vomit ²  you out of my mouth!

All these evils come from within and defile a person.”

For my sighing comes in place of ¹  my food, ²  and my groanings ³  flow forth like water. ⁴ 

I am numb with pain and severely battered; ¹  I groan loudly because of the anxiety I feel. ² 

What defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth; it is what ¹  comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”

For out of the heart come evil ideas, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

There is nothing outside of a person that can defile him by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles him.” ¹
