And I will say to myself, ¹  “You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’

There ¹  the prisoners ²  relax ³  together; ⁴  they do not hear the voice of the oppressor. ⁵ 

The wicked person flees when there is no one pursuing, ¹  but the righteous person is as confident ²  as a lion.

(4:1) ¹  I, Nebuchadnezzar, was relaxing in my home, ²  living luxuriously ³  in my palace.

May mercy, peace, and love be lavished on you! ¹

Rest once more, my soul, ¹  for the Lord has vindicated you. ² 

They have almost destroyed me here on the earth, but I do not reject your precepts.

But the one who listens ¹  to me will live in security, ²  and will be at ease ³  from the dread of harm.

Hold on to instruction, ¹  do not let it go; protect it, ²  because it is your life.

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to relax, ¹ 

Carrying out a wicked scheme ¹  is enjoyable ²  to a fool, and so is wisdom for the one who has discernment. ³ 

A tranquil spirit ¹  revives the body, ²  but envy ³  is rottenness to the bones. ⁴
