“You must not disobey the Lord your God by saying, ‘We will not stay in this land.’

and he cried out to the prophet from Judah, “This is what the Lord says, ‘You ¹  have rebelled against the Lord ²  and have not obeyed the command the Lord your God gave you.

and a stumbling-stone ¹  and a rock to trip over. ²  They stumble ³  because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. ⁴ 

And to whom did he swear they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?

But Moses said, “Why ¹  are you now transgressing the commandment ²  of the Lord? It will not succeed!

“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their ¹  hands when they eat.” ² 

but you must not make an agreement with the people who live in this land. You should tear down the altars where they worship.’ ¹  But you have disobeyed me. ²  Why would you do such a thing? ³ 

Then the servants of the king who were at the king’s gate asked Mordecai, “Why are you violating the king’s commandment?”

When the old prophet who had invited him to his house heard the news, ¹  he said, “It is the prophet ²  who rebelled against the Lord. ³  The Lord delivered him over to the lion and it ripped him up ⁴  and killed him, just as the Lord warned him.” ⁵ 

but he answered ¹  his father, ‘Look! These many years I have worked like a slave ²  for you, and I never disobeyed your commands. Yet ³  you never gave me even a goat ⁴  so that I could celebrate with my friends!

But if they refuse to listen, they pass over the river of death, ¹  and expire without knowledge.

If his sons reject my law and disobey my regulations,

Any man who rebels against what you say and does not obey all your commands will be executed. ¹  But ²  be strong and brave!”

Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have disobeyed what the Lord commanded ¹  and what you said as well. ²  For I was afraid of the army, and I followed their wishes. ³ 

Yet death reigned from Adam until Moses even over those who did not sin in the same way that Adam (who is a type ¹  of the coming one) transgressed. ² 

So the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse ¹  to obey my commandments and my instructions?

“‘If in spite of this ¹  you do not obey me but walk in hostility against me, ² 

Why then have you broken the oath you made before the Lord and disobeyed the order I gave you?” ¹ 

We have not been unfaithful, ¹  nor have we disobeyed your commands. ² 

He made it dark; ¹  they did not disobey his orders. ²
