But if you do not believe what Moses ¹  wrote, how will you believe my words?”

and how from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

This gospel ¹  he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures,

But this has happened so that ¹  the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

but now is disclosed, and through the prophetic scriptures has been made known to all the nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith –

Day after day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, yet ¹  you did not arrest me. But this has happened so that ²  the scriptures would be fulfilled.”

Then ¹  beginning with Moses and all the prophets, ²  he interpreted to them the things written about ³  himself in all the scriptures.

You study the scriptures thoroughly ¹  because you think in them you possess eternal life, ²  and it is these same scriptures ³  that testify about me,

“In Bethlehem of Judea,” they said, “for it is written this way by the prophet:

How then would the scriptures that say it must happen this way be fulfilled?”

But Abraham said, ¹  ‘They have Moses and the prophets; they must respond to ²  them.’

because these are days of vengeance, ¹  to fulfill ²  all that is written.

Then he opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures, ¹ 

If ¹  you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me.

Jesus found a young donkey ¹  and sat on it, just as it is written,

(For they did not yet understand ¹  the scripture that Jesus ²  must rise from the dead.) ³ 

just as it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one,

For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” ¹ 

so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” ¹
