Remove ¹  your hand ²  far from me and stop making me afraid with your terror. ³ 

When the sun rises, they withdraw and sleep ¹  in their dens.

The sun and moon are darkened; the stars withhold ¹  their brightness.

While ¹  Saul spoke to the priest, the panic in the Philistines’ camp was becoming greater and greater. So Saul said to the priest, “Withdraw your hand!”

“Please ask the Lord to come and help us, ¹  because King Nebuchadnezzar ²  of Babylon is attacking us. Maybe the Lord will perform one of his miracles as in times past and make him stop attacking us and leave.” ³ 

God does not restrain his anger; ¹  under him the helpers of Rahab ²  lie crushed. ³ 

He does not take his eyes ¹  off the righteous; but with kings on the throne he seats the righteous ²  and exalts them forever. ³ 

The earth quakes ¹  before them; ²  the sky reverberates. ³  The sun and the moon grow dark; the stars refuse to shine. ⁴ 

to turn a person from his sin, ¹  and to cover a person’s pride. ² 

If God ¹  were to set his heart on it, ²  and gather in his spirit and his breath,

Yet Jesus himself ¹  frequently withdrew ²  to the wilderness ³  and prayed.

Your sun will no longer set; your moon will not disappear; ¹  the Lord will be your permanent source of light; your time ²  of sorrow will be over.

and constant bickering by people corrupted in their minds and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness ¹  is a way of making a profit.

In the letter he wrote: “Station Uriah in the thick of the battle and then withdraw from him so he will be cut down and killed.”

Why do you remain inactive? Intervene and destroy him! ¹ 

Don’t set foot too frequently ¹  in your neighbor’s house, lest he become weary ²  of you and hate you.

But we command you, brothers and sisters, ¹  in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from any brother who lives an undisciplined ²  life ³  and not according to the tradition they ⁴  received from us.
