Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, ¹  “Rabbi, eat something.” ² 

Even some of the provincial authorities ¹  who were his friends sent ²  a message ³  to him, urging him not to venture ⁴  into the theater.

When Naomi ¹  realized that Ruth ²  was determined to go with her, she stopped trying to dissuade her. ³ 

With many other words he testified ¹  and exhorted them saying, “Save yourselves from this perverse ²  generation!”

testifying ¹  to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus. ² 

So the chief priests and the most prominent men ¹  of the Jews brought formal charges ²  against Paul to him.

When the man got ready to leave, ¹  his father-in-law convinced him to stay another night. ² 

A ¹  vision appeared to Paul during the night: A Macedonian man was standing there ²  urging him, ³  “Come over ⁴  to Macedonia ⁵  and help us!”

exhorting and encouraging you and insisting that you live in a way worthy of God who calls you to his own kingdom and his glory.

“How long must I see the enemy’s battle flags and hear the military signals of their bugles?” ¹ 

But he refused, saying, “I won’t eat!” Both his servants and the woman urged ¹  him to eat, so he gave in. ²  He got up from the ground and sat down on the bed.

They strengthened ¹  the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue ²  in the faith, saying, “We must enter the kingdom ³  of God through many persecutions.” ⁴ 

When Apollos ¹  wanted to cross over to Achaia, ²  the brothers encouraged ³  him ⁴  and wrote to the disciples to welcome him. When he arrived, he ⁵  assisted greatly those who had believed by grace,

Instructed by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”

As Paul and Barnabas ¹  were going out, ²  the people ³  were urging ⁴  them to speak about these things ⁵  on the next Sabbath.

Because he could not be persuaded, ¹  we said no more except, ²  “The Lord’s will be done.” ³ 

begging us with great earnestness for the blessing and fellowship of helping ¹  the saints.

The Egyptians were urging ¹  the people on, in order to send them out of the land quickly, ²  for they were saying, “We are all dead!”

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, ¹  to acknowledge those who labor among you and preside over you in the Lord and admonish you,

But the aim of our instruction ¹  is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith. ²
