A laborer’s ¹  appetite ²  works on his behalf, ³  for his hunger ⁴  urges him to work. ⁵ 

For the love of Christ ¹  controls us, since we have concluded this, that Christ ²  died for all; therefore all have died.

For I am full of words, and the spirit within me ¹  constrains me. ² 

“Whoever is naive, let him turn in here,” she says ¹  to those ²  who lack understanding. ³ 

“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here,” she says to those who lack understanding. ¹ 

So then, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh

Like obedient children, do not comply with ¹  the evil urges you used to follow in your ignorance, ² 

Dear friends, I urge you as foreigners and exiles to keep away from fleshly desires that do battle against the soul,

Above all, understand this: ¹  In the last days blatant scoffers ²  will come, being propelled by their own evil urges ³ 

until I come and take you to a land just like your own – a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive trees and honey. Then you will live and not die. Don’t listen to Hezekiah, for he is misleading you when he says, “The Lord will rescue us.”
