Then I will teach ¹  rebels your merciful ways, ²  and sinners will turn ³  to you.

Sinful rebels are totally destroyed; ¹  evil men have no future. ² 

Remember this, so you can be brave! ¹  Think about it, you rebels! ² 

But if you show prejudice, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as violators. ¹ 

So I will assign him a portion with the multitudes, ¹  he will divide the spoils of victory with the powerful, ²  because he willingly submitted ³  to death and was numbered with the rebels, when he lifted up the sin of many and intervened ⁴  on behalf of the rebels.”

Toward the end of their rule, when rebellious acts ¹  are complete, a rash ²  and deceitful ³  king will arise. ⁴ 

Who is wise? Let him discern ¹  these things! Who is discerning? Let him understand them! For the ways of the Lord are right; the godly walk in them, but in them the rebellious stumble.

For I tell you that this scripture must be ¹  fulfilled in me, ‘And he was counted with the transgressors.’ ²  For what is written about me is being fulfilled.” ³ 

All rebellious sinners will be shattered, ¹  those who abandon the Lord will perish.

Like an archer who wounds at random, ¹  so is the one who hires ²  a fool or hires any passer-by.

I take note of the treacherous and despise them, because they do not keep your instructions. ¹ 

Keen insight ¹  wins ²  favor, but the conduct ³  of the unfaithful is harsh. ⁴ 

Indeed, she lies in wait like a robber, ¹  and increases the unfaithful ²  among men. ³ 

You, O Lord God, the invincible warrior, ¹  the God of Israel, rouse yourself and punish ²  all the nations! Have no mercy on any treacherous evildoers! (Selah)

but the wicked ¹  will be removed ²  from the land, and the treacherous ³  will be torn away ⁴  from it.

The integrity of the upright guides them, ¹  but the crookedness of the unfaithful destroys them. ² 

The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, ¹  but the faithless will be captured ²  by their own desires. ³ 

From the fruit of his speech ¹  a person eats good things, ²  but the faithless ³  desire ⁴  the fruit of violence. ⁵ 

Just as it is written in the law of Moses, so all this calamity has come on us. Still we have not tried to pacify ¹  the LORD our God by turning back from our sin and by seeking wisdom ²  from your reliable moral standards. ³
