(For John had not yet been thrown into prison.) ¹ 

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

So ¹  that huge dragon – the ancient serpent, the one called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world – was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him.

(This ¹  was a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection ²  started in the city, and for murder.) ³ 

If anyone does not remain ¹  in me, he is thrown out like a branch, and dries up; and such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, ²  and are burned up. ³ 

If ¹  anyone’s name ²  was not found written in the book of life, that person ³  was thrown into the lake of fire.

Even now the ax is laid at ¹  the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Miriam sang in response ¹  to them, “Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea.” ² 

He released the man they asked for, who had been thrown in prison for insurrection and murder. But he handed Jesus over ¹  to their will. ² 

Then ¹  the second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain of burning fire was thrown into the sea. A ²  third of the sea became blood,

Then ¹  Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death – the lake of fire.

They will be thrown down the side of a cliff by their judges. ¹  They ²  will listen to my words, for they are pleasant.

Whoever does not bow down and pay homage will immediately ¹  be thrown into the midst of a furnace of blazing fire!”

Then ¹  one powerful angel picked up a stone like a huge millstone, threw it into the sea, and said, “With this kind of sudden violent force ²  Babylon the great city will be thrown down ³  and it will never be found again!

They ¹  have destroyed our ²  vines; ³  they have turned our ⁴  fig trees into mere splinters. They have completely stripped off the bark ⁵  and thrown them aside; the ⁶  twigs are stripped bare. ⁷ 

“As for these things that you are gazing at, the days will come when not one stone will be left on another. ¹  All will be torn down!” ² 

Now ¹  when the dragon realized ²  that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.

“You are the salt ¹  of the earth. But if salt loses its flavor, ²  how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people.

because of your anger and raging fury. Indeed, ¹  you pick me up and throw me away.

He will be left unburied just like a dead donkey. His body will be dragged off and thrown outside the gates of Jerusalem.’” ¹
