So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? ¹ 

to give you thanks, ¹  and to tell about all your amazing deeds. ² 

Then ¹  Peter said, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for everyone?” ² 

He instructed the messenger as follows: “When you finish giving the battle report to the king,

Jacob also deceived ¹  Laban the Aramean by not telling him that he was leaving. ² 

Do not listen to the prophets who are telling you that you do not need to serve ¹  the king of Babylon. For they are prophesying lies to you.

I am telling you this now, ¹  before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe ²  that I am he. ³ 

And the person who saw it ¹  has testified (and his testimony is true, and he ²  knows that he is telling the truth), ³  so that you also may believe.

(All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there used to spend their time ¹  in nothing else than telling ²  or listening to something new.) ³ 

For this I was appointed a preacher and apostle – I am telling the truth; ¹  I am not lying – and a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

Some thought that, because Judas had the money box, Jesus was telling him to buy whatever they needed for the feast, ¹  or to give something to the poor.) ² 

When Gideon heard the report of the dream and its interpretation, he praised God. ¹  Then he went back to the Israelite camp and said, “Get up, for the Lord is handing the Midianite army over to you!”

Now ¹  as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave girl met us who had a spirit that enabled her to foretell the future by supernatural means. ²  She ³  brought her owners ⁴  a great profit by fortune-telling. ⁵ 

telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came at night and stole his body ¹  while we were asleep.’

Israel said, “Why did you bring this trouble ¹  on me by telling ²  the man you had one more brother?”

While Gehazi ¹  was telling the king how Elisha ²  had brought the dead back to life, the woman whose son he had brought back to life came to ask the king for her house and field. ³  Gehazi said, “My master, O king, this is the very woman and this is her son whom Elisha brought back to life!”

They were telling me about his good deeds and then taking back to him the things I said. ¹  Tobiah, on the other hand, sent letters in order to scare ²  me.

Who among you can prove me guilty ¹  of any sin? ²  If I am telling you ³  the truth, why don’t you believe me?

For in fact when we were with you, we were telling you in advance that we would suffer affliction, and so it has happened, as you well know. ¹ 

Now when ¹  Jesus finished these parables, he moved on from there.
