Then Moses ¹  and Elijah ²  also appeared before them, talking with him.

Then Elijah appeared before them along with Moses, ¹  and they were talking with Jesus.

They ¹  were talking to each other about all the things that had happened.

the chief men refrained from talking and covered their mouths with their hands;

Then ¹  two men, Moses and Elijah, ²  began talking with him. ³ 

Then he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, “I do not know this man you are talking about!”

When he finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him. ¹ 

While they were still speaking with him, the king’s eunuchs arrived. They quickly brought Haman to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” At that moment, ¹  while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed. ² 

But he denied it in front of them all: ¹  “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

(Now Jesus had been talking about ¹  his death, but they ²  thought he had been talking about real sleep.) ³ 

So they kept on repeating, ¹  “What is the meaning of what he says, ²  ‘In a little while’? ³  We do not understand ⁴  what he is talking about.” ⁵ 

Now the king was talking to Gehazi, the prophet’s ¹  servant, and said, “Tell me all the great things which Elisha has done.”

Now at that very moment his disciples came back. ¹  They were shocked ²  because he was speaking ³  with a woman. However, no one said, “What do you want?” ⁴  or “Why are you speaking with her?”

While ¹  they were talking and debating ²  these things, ³  Jesus himself approached and began to accompany them

While ¹  you are still there speaking to the king, I will arrive ²  and verify your report.” ³ 

But he denied it: ¹  “I don’t even understand what you’re talking about!” ²  Then ³  he went out to the gateway, and a rooster crowed. ⁴ 

Now ¹  while some were speaking about the temple, how it was adorned ²  with beautiful stones and offerings, ³  Jesus ⁴  said,

While they were saying these things, Jesus ¹  himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” ² 

Jesus told him, “You have seen him; he ¹  is the one speaking with you.” ²
