and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to ¹  all the fullness of God.

And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds ¹  in Christ Jesus.

For indeed, what had been glorious now ¹  has no glory because of the tremendously greater glory of what replaced it. ² 

For I tell you, unless your righteousness goes beyond that of the experts in the law ¹  and the Pharisees, ²  you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

My fruit is better than the purest gold, ¹  and what I produce ²  is better than choice silver.

for just as the sky ¹  is higher than the earth, so my deeds ²  are superior to ³  your deeds and my plans ⁴  superior to your plans.

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon and another glory of the stars, for star differs from star in glory.

But ¹  now Jesus ²  has obtained a superior ministry, since ³  the covenant that he mediates is also better and is enacted ⁴  on better promises. ⁵ 

I did not believe these things until I came and saw them with my own eyes. Indeed, I didn’t hear even half the story! ¹  Your wisdom surpasses what was reported to me.

“I tell you the truth, ¹  among those born of women, no one has arisen greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least ²  in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he is.

I tell you, among those born of women no one is greater ¹  than John. ²  Yet the one who is least ³  in the kingdom of God ⁴  is greater than he is.”
