He sucks the poison ¹  of serpents; ²  the fangs ³  of a viper ⁴  kill him.

And its young ones devour the blood, and where the dead carcasses ¹  are, there it is.”

Why did the knees welcome me, ¹  and why were there ²  two breasts ³  that I might nurse at them? ⁴

So her husband Elkanah said to her, “Do what you think best. ¹  Stay until you have weaned him. May the Lord fulfill his promise.” ²  So the woman stayed and nursed her son until she had weaned him.
